Hon. Mohamed Papa Bangura, the Vice Chairman 2 of the Wusum Stars Football Club received Abu Bakarr Sillah’s outfit package, based in the United Kingdom.
Mamadu Barrie, Chief Executive Officer of the Borboh Barrie and Ivorian Sillas Foundation, presented Sillah’s promise, made earlier in January while honouring the invitation to spectate the club’s home encounter against Kamboi Eagles.
CEO Barrie was joined by Mohamed Sesay, a member of the “Say No To Drugs Campaign,” team along with the donor’s wife, Zainab Sillah.
The package includes thirty maroon tops and shorts, five official outfits, and two yellow outfits for the coach and his assistant.
Abu Bakarr Sillah, said the promise fulfilled aims at boosting morale and maintaining the team’s standards.
“It displeased me when I saw a group of players wearing different warming-up outfits,” he recalled.
The promise fulfilled marks the third occasion Ivorian Sillas has supported Wusum Stars, including ten standard footballs donated before the match against Kamboi Eagles and two pairs of kits in the 2023/24 league campaign.
”My respect for Makeni is really high for reasons best known to me,” he added.
He also maintained that his unwavering affection for Makeni is deeply connected to the fact that it is his wife’s hometown, born at 33 Mabanta Road.
Abu Bakarr Sillah further indicated that the support is also part of the continued efforts to tackle the high rate of substance abuse among young people in Sierra Leone through sports.
Hon. Mohamed Papa Bangura visibly expressed on the timely delivery and the impact of the outfit package on the club.
Ivorian Sillah’s continued support for Wusum Stars Football Club reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to national development above all boundaries.
