A dream came true for 23-year-old Amidu Kamara of Kabala on Friday, 9 January 2026, when he received the keys to a fully completed residential house at TAF Salone Micro City, emerging as the grand prize winner of Africell Sierra Leone’s Jubilee Jumbo Promotion. The event marked the culmination of a nationwide campaign celebrating Africell’s 25 years of operations in Sierra Leone.
The Jubilee Jumbo Promotion, launched in April 2025, was designed to reward loyal customers. Subscribers earned points through routine use of Africell services one point for airtime recharges and two points for AfriMoney transactions. By December 2025, all accumulated points were eligible for the final draw, with the grand prize being a ready-to-occupy house.

Speaking at the grand finale, Africell CEO Shadi Gerjawi described the initiative as a concrete expression of the company’s commitment to its customers. “This house giveaway is more than a prize it is our way of thanking our loyal subscribers and marking a new chapter in Africell’s journey,” Gerjawi said.
He emphasized that Africell remains customer-focused, continuously assessing products and promotions based on the value delivered to subscribers. He also announced the launch of Kidsonet, a digital service that allows parents to protect their children from harmful online content, demonstrating Africell’s role in social responsibility beyond telecommunications.

Gerjawi further outlined plans to expand network coverage, particularly in underserved rural communities, ensuring more Sierra Leoneans gain access to reliable connectivity. He reassured the public that the house draw was conducted transparently, with all entries verified and displayed before the selection. “There are no hidden conditions attached,” he noted. “Once the key is handed over, ownership is absolute. The winner can live in it, rent it, or sell it.”
Also addressing the gathering, Afrimoney CEO Martinson Obeng-Agyei commended the promotion as evidence of Africell’s commitment to fulfilling promises. He reminded customers that the house had been fully completed and branded in Africell colours and encouraged continued use of AfriMoney services to benefit from future reward initiatives.
The President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), Alhaji Manika Kamara, oversaw the draw and praised the process for its fairness and credibility. During the finale, all qualified participants placed their folded tickets into a transparent box. Blindfolded, the SLAJ President thoroughly mixed the entries before drawing the winning ticket. When Amidu Kamara’s name was announced, the crowd erupted in applause, celebrating his life-changing win.
This milestone concludes Africell’s Jubilee Jumbo Promotion, regarded as one of the largest customer reward campaigns ever conducted by a telecommunications company in Sierra Leone. By offering such life-transforming prizes, Africell reinforces its reputation as a brand that rewards loyalty while continuing to invest in nationwide connectivity and social responsibility.
