Kenema Court Sentences Theft Offenders

Mohamed Rogers with no fixed address in Kenema has been sent to the Sierra Leone Correctional Service (SLCS) in Kenema by Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate court No. 1 in Kenema for fraudulent conversion contrary to section 20(1)(iv)(b) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The accused person on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Dorwaila in Kenema City, fraudulently converted to his own benefit certain property, one Tecno Spark 7 mobile phone.

He pleaded guilty and begged for mercy and was sent to the Sierra Leone Correctional Service in Kenema for twelve (12) months imprisonment or pay for the said phone worth valued to the
complainant.

In another development, Yusuf Juana a farmer, resident of potehun village, arraigned before the resident Magistrate for Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916. According to the court record, on Wednesday, June 16, 2025, at potehun village, Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province, stole quantity of cassava tubers. He pleaded guilty and begged for mercy and was sent to the Sierra Leone Correctional Service for twelve(12) months imprisonment.

The matters were prosecuted by Police Constable, 1536, Vonja Thomas and police Inspector, Alphan Samuel Musa attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department at the Kenema Police Division.
