Orange CEO Meets Vice President

Strengthening collaboration between government and the private sector took center stage as the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, Madam Aicha Toure, paid a high-level courtesy visit to the Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh.

The engagement, held in Freetown, focused on deepening strategic cooperation aimed at accelerating digital transformation and expanding inclusive connectivity across the country. The visit underscored the growing recognition of telecommunications as a critical pillar in Sierra Leone’s socio-economic advancement.

During discussions, Madam Toure reaffirmed Orange Sierra Leone’s unwavering commitment to investing in robust digital infrastructure. She outlined the company’s ongoing efforts to widen network coverage to underserved and hard-to-reach communities, enhance service reliability, and introduce innovative technological solutions tailored to the evolving needs of citizens and businesses alike.

According to the CEO, access to affordable and reliable connectivity remains central to unlocking economic opportunities, promoting financial inclusion, and fostering youth empowerment. She emphasized that digital services now play a transformative role in sectors such as education, entrepreneurship, healthcare delivery, and small-scale enterprise development.

“Connectivity is no longer a luxury but a necessity,” she noted, stressing that Orange’s long-term strategy aligns with Sierra Leone’s broader development agenda and ambition to build a resilient digital economy.

Vice President Jalloh welcomed the visit as a demonstration of the private sector’s confidence in the country’s development trajectory. He commended Orange Sierra Leone for its continued contributions to job creation, technological innovation, and national revenue generation.

The Vice President further reiterated the Government’s commitment to providing a conducive policy and regulatory environment that supports investment and fosters healthy competition within the telecommunications sector. He encouraged stronger collaboration between Orange and relevant government institutions to accelerate nationwide digital access and ensure that rural and marginalized communities are not left behind in the digital era.
