The Rokupr Central Mosque has appointed Sheikh Abu Bakarr Kamara as Caretaker Imam following leadership changes prompted by the passing of the Chief Imam, Alhaji Osman Kamara.
Initially, mosque authorities appointed Pa Alhaji Alie Kamara as Acting Imam to oversee religious duties. However, due to health concerns, he stepped down and nominated Sheikh Abu Bakarr Kamara to assume the role.
The decision, made in consultation with mosque elders and community leaders, aims to ensure continuity in religious activities. In a statement, Pa Alhaji Alie Kamara expressed gratitude for the support he received but emphasized that his health necessitated the transition.
Sheikh Abu Bakarr Kamara has pledged to serve with dedication and has called for unity among worshippers. The community has welcomed his appointment and continues to pray for stability as discussions progress regarding the selection of a permanent Chief Imam.
The late Alhaji Osman Kamara was a revered religious leader, and the mosque leadership remains committed to upholding his legacy while ensuring a seamless transition in spiritual guidance.
