The Wellington Muslims Association (WMA) Alumni successfully hosted an Iftar gathering as the holy month of Ramadan reached its twentieth day, fostering a spirit of reflection, fellowship, and unity among members.
The event took place on Monday, 9 March 2026, at the school’s conference hall and drew numerous former students alongside key school administrators, including Principal Mr. Abdul Razak Kamara and Vice Principal Mr. Abu Bakar Kamara.
In his remarks, Principal Kamara praised the alumni for organizing the first-ever Iftar event, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration within the association. He also highlighted alumni who voluntarily contribute to the school by returning to teach and inspire current students, noting that such efforts strengthen the school community.
Vice Principal Kamara echoed these sentiments, commending the alumni’s initiative to bring members together and acknowledging the Principal’s guidance in supporting their career and personal growth. He stressed that unity and progress are essential for any thriving association.
Former Secretary General Mr. S.O.S. Swaray encouraged alumni to complete their membership forms and participate actively in future activities. He also informed attendees about the upcoming association elections scheduled after Ramadan, urging women to pursue leadership roles and men to drive positive change. Mr. Swaray concluded by calling on members to prioritize the growth and sustainability of the alumni body.
The gathering concluded with a shared Iftar meal, where members enjoyed the fellowship and camaraderie. Attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to reconnect and celebrate the enduring spirit of togetherness among WMA alumni.
