Missing Finance Officer Found Dead

Shock and grief have gripped residents of Daru and surrounding communities following the tragic discovery of the body of Mr. Sallu Moina Kanneh, a respected Finance Officer of the Ndomakeh Federation, days after he was reported missing.

According to local sources, Kanneh disappeared in the early hours of March 11, 2026, after leaving his residence in Daru, Jawei Chiefdom, to observe his routine morning prayers. His sudden failure to return home sparked concern among family members and neighbours, prompting a community-wide search effort.

The search came to a sorrowful end on Tuesday when residents of Sasahun village reportedly found a body floating in a nearby river. Authorities were immediately notified, and upon retrieval and identification, the remains were confirmed to be those of the missing finance officer.

Police in Daru have since launched an official investigation aimed at establishing the exact circumstances that led to his death. While preliminary inquiries are ongoing, law enforcement officials have yet to release further details, urging the public to remain calm as the matter is thoroughly examined.

The incident has sent waves of mourning throughout the region, with colleagues, friends, and community members describing Kanneh as a diligent public servant and a humble individual devoted to both his professional duties and faith.

As investigations continue, residents are anxiously awaiting clarity, hoping that authorities will soon provide answers that could help bring closure to the bereaved family and the wider community.
