Limount Limount College officially launched activities for its 30th Anniversary Celebration set for next year during its annual prize-giving ceremony held on the school grounds on Wednesday .The event drew students, staff, community members, and several past pupils, marking the beginning of preparations for a landmark year in the school’s history.
Guest Speaker Joanne Tucker, Esq. a respected alumna and practicing attorney, delivered an inspiring keynote address reflecting on her years at Limount. Tucker described her time at the institution as life-shaping and credited her success to the discipline and values she built during her school days.
“Limount prepared me in ways I only came to appreciate later in life,” she said. “I encourage every student here to stay determined and take full advantage of the opportunities this school offers.”
Since its founding nearly three decades ago, Limount College has steadily built a reputation for academic distinction and character formation. Over the years, the school has produced outstanding scholars, professionals, and leaders across various fields. Its students have consistently excelled in national examinations, earned merit awards, and represented the region in academic competitions.
Teachers and administrators say Limount’s achievements are the result of dedicated staff, motivated students, and a long-standing culture of hard work and integrity.
The official launch of the 30th anniversary was conducted by teacher Mr. Sannoh, known for his many years of dedicated service, alongside alumna Victoria Cole and several other past students. Their participation symbolized the important role alumni play in the life of the school.
, Mrs. Aubee Thomas, Principal of Limount College, expressed hope that more former students would reconnect with the institution as it approaches this milestone. She noted that while some alumni have remained supportive, many others have grown distant over the years.
“Limount’s past pupils are an essential part of our story,” she said. “We want to work with them to make next year’s celebration meaningful and memorable. Their involvement will help strengthen the school and inspire the present generation.”
Mrs. Thomas encouraged alumni to join hands with the school as it prepares for the anniversary, adding that strong collaboration would lay a solid foundation for Limount’s future.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of academic awards, showcasing the excellence the school continues to uphold.
