At a time when many young people are grappling with uncertainty and discouragement, Sierra Leonean youths have been encouraged to remain focused, resilient, and committed to long-term goals despite life’s challenges.

Speaking during a youth engagement session, journalist and youth advocate Thaimu T. Kamara emphasized that success is rarely immediate but is achieved through patience, discipline, and consistent hard work. He urged young people not to lose hope in the face of setbacks, noting that perseverance remains a critical ingredient for personal and professional growth.

“Young people must not lose hope,” he said. “With a focused mind, patience, and hard work, you will rise above challenges. Stay disciplined and trust the process your time will surely come.”

The message forms part of broader efforts aimed at inspiring and guiding the next generation of leaders in Sierra Leone, with a strong focus on resilience, self-belief, and purposeful living.

Community leaders present at the engagement echoed similar sentiments, advising youths to shun shortcuts and instead commit themselves to building sustainable futures for both themselves and the nation.
