Two International Islamic groups namely the Red crescent of UAE and Sharjah charity International, have both extended an olive branch to Muslims in Kenema during the recent Eid celebration.
The occasion which is usually celebrated by a means of slaughtering animals as accepted by the Holy Quran, brought together hundreds of Muslims from across the district to benefit from the gesture.
More than 20 slaughtered cows were distributed to various Islamic groups in Kenema including the physically challenged.
The distribution of the cows took place at Masjid Al-Imaanu situated at reservation road and another masjid at Kpayama community respectively.
The event which was described as one of the best Islamic activities of recent in the district also brought together media practitioners, to name but few.
During the distribution process, the lead facilitator Sheik Sahid Omar Mansaray, admonished Muslims to have faith in Allah, and to always spread love to one another.
On behalf of the donors, Sheik went further to caution fellow Muslims to also maintain honesty in everything they do adding that, honesty can unlock so many doors.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, madam Hawa Koroma a physically challenged woman applauded the donors for what she described as an extraordinary gesture to them as muslims. She said they go through a series of intimidation as a result of their situation, but however singled out the donors, for being among those who are very personate about their wellbeing as physically challenged persons. She further expressed profound gratitude and excitement over the entire process, and commended the facilitators for their level of transparency and accountability throughout the process.
