UNICEF is inviting applications for an Emergency Preparedness Platform (EPP 3.0) Implementation Intern based in Rome, Italy. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work on a global digital platform that supports UNICEF’s emergency preparedness and response efforts across more than 190 countries and territories.

About the Internship

The selected intern will join UNICEF’s Emergency Preparedness team and contribute to the continuous improvement of EPP 3.0, UNICEF’s corporate digital platform for emergency preparedness planning, monitoring, and decision-making.

The platform integrates data from multiple UNICEF systems to help headquarters, regional offices, and country offices prepare for and respond to humanitarian emergencies more effectively. Following its global launch in July 2026, UNICEF is expanding the platform with new features while improving usability and system performance.

Key Responsibilities

The successful intern will support:

• Functional testing of new platform features

• Software quality assurance and bug identification

• Data validation and verification

• Documentation and issue tracking

• Supporting user feedback and Product Backlog Items (PBIs)

• Assisting users through guidance, webinars, and training materials

• Supporting emergency preparedness activities across UNICEF teams

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should:

• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or have graduated within the last two years.

• Have 6 months to 1 year of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or data validation.

Academic projects and previous internships are accepted as relevant experience.
