A man identified as Brima Turay, reportedly residing at #2 Off PaDemba Road Back of PWD Quarter in Freetown, is being sought following allegations of a sexual act involving his friend, Osman, and a subsequent incident that reportedly left a man identified as Musa with severe injuries.
According to information reaching Hope Times, Osman was a regular visitor to Brima residence. It is alleged that during one of his visits, Brima engaged in a sexual act with Osman.
The alleged incident was reportedly discovered by Brima aunt, following which Osman family took the matter to the Police.
Police are said to have invited Brima to report to the station on the 6th, 7th and 8th of September 2025, but he allegedly failed to honour the invitations. On the 9th, officers reportedly went to his residence to arrest him after he failed to appear.
However, Brima allegedly attempted to escape. His father reportedly sent Musa to restrain him. During the attempt, a struggle allegedly broke out between Brima and Musa, resulting in both men falling in a rocky area.
Musa reportedly sustained serious injuries to his leg during the fall. His injuries were said to have deteriorated to the point where the affected leg was eventually amputated.
The incident reportedly occurred on 4th September 2025.
The matter has since generated serious concern within the families involved, with reports that Osman relatives have been searching for Brima.
There are also allegations that members of Brima family have received threats in connection with the matter. His elder sister, who reportedly resides in the provinces, is alleged to have faced confrontations when visiting Freetown.
The situation has raised concerns about the safety of Brima, his family members and others connected to the dispute.
Under Sierra Leonean law, male same-sex sexual activity remains criminalised. However, claims that a person accused of such conduct can legally be killed are incorrect. The death penalty was abolished in Sierra Leone in 2021.
Hope Times understands that Brima whereabouts remain unknown. Anyone with information concerning his location is encouraged to report it to the Police or other appropriate authorities rather than taking the law into their own hands.
