Hope Media S/L is set to honour 30 distinguished individuals and institutions at the Hope Media S/L National Legacy Awards 2026, a national recognition initiative established to celebrate outstanding contributions to Sierra Leone’s development.
Scheduled for Friday, 6 November 2026, at Freetown City Hall, the ceremony will bring together leading personalities from government, business, education, banking, media, civil society, humanitarian work, religion, environmental protection and other sectors whose contributions have made a meaningful difference in the country.
Under the theme “Celebrating Icons of National Development,” the National Legacy Awards will recognize individuals and institutions whose leadership, professional excellence, public service, innovation and commitment to society have created a lasting impact.
The 2026 edition will feature 30 carefully selected awardees, each receiving a Hope Media S/L National Legacy Award in recognition of their exceptional contribution within their respective fields.
The selection is aimed at placing special attention on impact, leadership, consistency and national contribution, rather than simply recognizing popularity or position. The awards will therefore celebrate people and institutions whose work demonstrates a clear commitment to improving lives, strengthening institutions and advancing national development.
Among the areas to be recognized are education, public service, business, banking, journalism, humanitarian service, philanthropy, environmental protection, corporate leadership, religious leadership and community development.
The National Legacy Awards also seek to establish a culture of recognizing individuals whose contributions may otherwise go unnoticed, while encouraging others to pursue excellence and meaningful service to society.
Hope Media S/L believes that national development is driven not only by policies and institutions, but also by individuals who dedicate their knowledge, resources, time and leadership to creating positive change.
The National Legacy Awards 2026 will therefore serve as a platform to celebrate those contributions and preserve the stories of individuals and institutions whose work is helping to shape Sierra Leone’s future.
The ceremony will commence with a red-carpet reception at 7:30 PM, followed by the main awards ceremony.
As Hope Media S/L continues to expand its role in journalism, public communication and national development advocacy, the National Legacy Awards form part of the institution’s commitment to recognizing excellence and documenting the contributions of Sierra Leoneans who are making a difference.
