Members of the All Peoples Congress (APC) seeking to contest District Executive positions have been given another opportunity to submit their applications, following the party’s decision to officially reopen the application process across the country.
The announcement was contained in a public notice dated August 18, 2026, and signed by the party’s National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq. The notice states that interested party members can now apply through the APC’s online application portal or by submitting their applications manually.
The reopening of the process comes as the party moves to facilitate the selection of candidates for various District Executive positions in accordance with its internal electoral framework.
According to the APC, the process is being conducted pursuant to Section 16 of the APC Party Elections Rules and Regulations, which have been gazetted by the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC), as well as provisions contained in the APC Constitution of 2022.
Application Fees Announced
The party has outlined separate fees for candidates depending on the position they intend to contest.
Applicants for the position of District Chairman are required to pay a candidature fee of Le2,000, in addition to Le200 for the application form.
Candidates seeking all other District Executive positions will pay a candidature fee of Le1,000 and Le100 for the application form.
The APC has advised prospective candidates to carefully complete the application process and ensure that all required conditions are satisfied before submission.
Membership Status Required
The party has also reminded aspiring candidates that eligibility to contest depends on compliance with the APC’s membership and electoral requirements.
Members intending to contest are expected to ensure that their membership subscriptions are fully paid and that their membership records are current.
The party said applicants must also satisfy the eligibility provisions contained in the APC Constitution and the Party Elections Rules and Regulations.
The requirement is intended to ensure that candidates participating in the process have valid and up-to-date membership records.
Orange Money Preferred
For the payment of candidature fees, the APC has designated its Orange Money Merchant Code 271703 as the preferred payment channel.
Candidates making payments through Orange Money are required to dial #14412271703#, enter the appropriate amount and provide the candidate’s full name as the payment reference before confirming the transaction with their Orange Money PIN.
The party has similarly provided a separate procedure for members who need to settle outstanding membership subscriptions.
Members are required to dial #1443151*2#, enter the Membership ID printed at the top right corner of their APC biometric membership card, confirm their details and select the subscription period they wish to pay for.
Available subscription periods include one, three, six and twelve months.
After selecting the relevant period, members can enter their PIN to complete the transaction.
The APC said payments made through Orange Money will be verified immediately through its digital membership platform, allowing membership records to be updated accordingly.
Alternative Bank Payment
Although Orange Money has been identified as the preferred payment method, the party has also provided an alternative option for applicants who may need to make payments through a bank.
Payments can be made through the APC’s account at Rokel Commercial Bank, with account number 1086762 provided for the purpose.
The party has urged all applicants to retain evidence of their payments, including transaction records and receipts, as these may be required during the verification process.
The instruction is intended to strengthen accountability and ensure that payments made by candidates can be properly matched with their applications and membership records.
PPRC Notified
The APC said a copy of the official notice reopening the application process has been formally submitted to the Political Parties Regulation Commission.
The submission provides the electoral regulator with official notification of the party’s arrangements for receiving applications for District Executive positions.
The reopening is therefore expected to allow eligible members across the country to participate in the internal process, provided they meet the requirements established by the party.
The APC maintains its national headquarters at We Yone House, 11A Old Railway Line, Freetown, with regional offices serving members in the Eastern, Northern, North-Western and Southern regions.
With applications now reopened, prospective candidates are expected to regularise their membership status, complete the necessary payments and submit their applications through the approved channels as the party advances preparations for its District Executive selection process.
